Core Web Vitals for UAE Websites: LCP, INP & CLS Explained

Google's Core Web Vitals have been a confirmed ranking factor since 2021, and their weight in search rankings has grown each year. For UAE businesses competing in high-value industries like real estate, healthcare, and legal services, a poor Core Web Vitals score can mean the difference between page one and page three.

**The three Core Web Vitals in 2026:**

**LCP (Largest Contentful Paint):** Measures how fast the main content of a page loads. Target: under 2.5 seconds. Common fixes: serve images in WebP/AVIF format, use a CDN with a Middle East PoP (Cloudflare UAE edge or similar), and eliminate render-blocking JavaScript.

**INP (Interaction to Next Paint):** Replaced FID in 2024. Measures how fast the page responds to user interactions. Target: under 200ms. Common fixes: reduce JavaScript bundle size, defer non-critical scripts, and use React Server Components where possible.

**CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift):** Measures visual stability — how much the page jumps around while loading. Target: under 0.1. Common fixes: always set explicit width and height on images, avoid dynamically injected content above existing content.

**UAE-specific considerations:** Arabic fonts loaded from Google Fonts can introduce LCP delays. Self-hosting Arabic fonts (Noto Sans Arabic, IBM Plex Arabic) and using font-display: swap reduces this risk.
